Teresa Berganza´s wardrobe for recitals after 1977 was very much inspired in the freedom and colours of Carmen´s role in Bizet´s opera. Loris Azzaro was Teresa´s major couturier since then developing a sofisticated and colorful style for the mezzosoprano. 

BERGANZA DRESSES BY AZZARO

The french couturier Loris Azzaro (1933-2003) was a devoted fan of Teresa Berganza and he created dresses for her in the 1980s 1990s and 2000s. In fact the most iconic image of Berganza in her recitals is built upon Azzaro´s colourfull gowns.
